TYPICAL PRODUCTS San gimignano: Vernaccia Wine
Vernaccia, one of the most notorious and appreciated white wine of Italy and produced only in San Gimignano, was the first Italian wine to receive the D.O.C. (Denomination of Controlled Origin is a prestigious recognition given by Italian government). The wine-making process is still done in traditional ways with a gentle pressing and a fermentation lasting for 12 - 18 days.

Saffron This spice cames from the Crocus Sativus, a plant showing characteristic purle flowers. An internal part of the flower, collected in the early morning, is dried up and traded as powder. That powder is named saffron.
