A big fireplace has been realized almost in every living-room and this creates a very unique and really comfortable atmosphere.

The farmhouse is on the magnificent tableland “Le Chiarne”, the heart of “Crete Senesi” and it is only 7 kms away from the artistic village of Asciano (Siena) and just few minutes from Rapolano Terme (Siena), a renewed place for its spa-sources and ancient travertine- quarries. With just 20 minutes you arrive to Siena, the cradle of art, history and tradition and with less than 10 minutes you enter the centre of “Chianti Classico”.

Farmhouse holiday apartment Il RosmarinoWhen you enter “Il Rosmarino” you receive a warm welcome. In fact the walls have been decorated with colours like red and gold and the atmosphere becomes more comfortable thanks to the arches made of bricks. More over a life-tree rises on a wall of the bedroom. The bathroom with shower is made of travertine and stones. The apartment has got a satellite aerial, an autonomous heating and an outdoor space.

Farmhouse holiday apartment La ViteIt extends over 2 floors and it is characterized by the superb and elegant living-room. A fireplace, made of stone lies in the centre of the living-room. The 2 bedrooms are really unique, both for the relaxing and green curtains and for the original canopy-bed made of wrought iron. A floral head of bed has been painted in the other bedroom. There are 2 bathrooms with shower and both are completely made of travertine. An outdoor zone has been realized also here.

Territory
Siena
The city was probably been settled in the time of Etruscans. However, the first document dealing with Siena is from 70 a.D. It's been written by Tacito. In that document, the city was called Sena Julia. We don't know much about the history of the city till the beginning of the new millennium: about the previous centuries, we know only that there were a big argue between the Bishop of Siena and the Bishop of Arezzo, dealing with the territorial border. The argue was solved first in favour of the Bishop of Arezzo, but then, when Siena went under the power of Francs (853 a.D.), the territory were given to the Bishop of Siena. However the city, that was first governed by Bishops then by counts, gets a certain importance.
In 1147 Siena became a self-governing commune. Because of the increasing of the Senese territory, done by the submission of the counts of the surrounding territory to Siena, the confrontation with Florence became inevitable. The war ended only in 1555: Siena was defeated and it was annexed to the Great duchy of Tuscany. It entered in the Italian Kingdom in 1861.
