Itinerary in Lazio
|
To decide to begin an itinerary in Lazio means to choose to lose
yourelf in a world where the past and the present meets and live
together in harmony and balance.
The historic, cultural, environmental and gastronomic value of cities
such as Viterbo, Montefiascone, Bagnoregio,
Bolsena, Acquapendente or Tarquinia is nowadays
known by everyone.
It's really from one of the towns of the seacost of Maremma, that is Tarquinia or Montalto,
that could start your itinerary in Lazio, maybe visiting the attestation left from Etruscans, or aeting the freshest fish in one
of the local restaurants. You could then decide to spend a day visiting Viterbo, its museums, its festivals, its pubs or its eating
houses, where you will taste the best typical products of the area, sleeping in an agritourism or
in the farmhouses advised from itinerary.it
The itineraries in Lazio, to be more precise in the area of Tuscia,
could go on with a visit to the Bolsena Lake, in the towns of Montefiascone,
the town of wine, Bolsena, with its eating houses and the various sporty activities you can do
on the lake and the hiking of the islands called Martana and Bisentina, to arrive to towns like Gradoli, Capodimonte
o Marta. You can't also miss a visit to the distinctive town of Civita di Bagnoregio in your itinerary of Lazio.
Visited every year from thousands of tourists, the little town is cordoned off and reachable only by a bridge. This is because of the
erosion of the calcareous rock surrounding it; because of this, Civita di Bagnoregio is called " La città che
muore " (“the Dying city”).
We advise you to end your itinerary in Lazio, stopping in Acquapendente,
a town of the high part of Tuscia, placed at the border of Umbria, Lazio and Toscana. A visit to the
natural reserve of Monte Rufeno, a break in a typical eating house of the area where to taste the best typical products,
and in the end a good sleep in an agritourism or in a farmhouse of the area will be the right complement for a rich and satisfying itinerary.
