On a gentle and pleasant hill, turned to the Amiata Mountain, Radicofani, San Casciano dei Bagni and the charming country surrounding Siena, rises the farmhouse built in the XIX century, by Boncompagni princes.
It’s a typical square farmhouse, built in stones according to the best architecture of Tuscany, and it’s been recently rebuilt.
The elegant construction and the wooden structure of the roof have been kept intact, but the farmhouse offers every modern comfort.
It’s surrounded by a large garden (more than 1 ha). The swimming pool is in a reserved place, surrounded by stone wall.
Because of its position on a hill (405 metres on the sea level), in the centre of a large valley, summer is fresh and ventilated.

Acquapendente is a small city near Viterbo. It's placed in the northern corner of Lazio, near the edge of Tuscany and Umbria. Although we don't have any document about the existence of Acquapendente before the 9th century a.D., many finding have shown that the town was settled by Etruscan and Romans. At the beginning, Acquapendente was called Arisa or Farisa, and it took her actual name only in 964 a.D., as we can find from a document of Emperor Otto I. Acquapendente (it means "Pending Water") derives her name from the several waterfall of Paglia river, that flows near the Town. The town belonged to the Church, but it was administrated from the city of Siena. Only in 1449 Acquapendente become an independent town within the Papal State. The settlement flourished after the destruction of Castro: the town gained a Bishop Palace and it increased the importance of city to the Church and the Pope. In 1535 Hierolimus Fabrici was born in Acquapendente. He's a famous anatomist. In Acquapendente, you have to see: The Watch Tower, the only remained of the Barbarossa Castle of 11th century, the Julia de Jacopo Tower, the only thing remained of the city wall, the Cathedral of San Sepolcro, that contains a stone from Gerusalemme wet by Jesus blood, S. Francis Church, dedicated to the Saint, although it's been built before, the Church of Saint Augustine (16th century). In the fraction of Torre Alfina, you can admire the Castle built by Desiderio, a Lombard king, and in the fraction of Trevinano you can look at the Castle known from the 12th century.

Montefiascone lies on a hill, not far from Viterbo. It's name derives from Mons Faliscorum (Mountain of the Falisci), that were a population living there. After them, the town was controlled by Etruscans and Romans. It's said that Montefiascone occupies the site of an ancient Etruscan temple. The name " Montefiascone " can be found for the first time on a document from 853 a.D., when the town belonged to the bishop of Tuscania. For the city history, is very important the fortress set in the highest place of the town: many Popes decided to stay there. In 1093, the Emperor Henry IV besiege the fortress, but the Farnese family protected it. The importance of the stronghold is shown also by the visit of the Emperor Frederick Barbarossa, in 1185. Popes used to live in the fortress, so they enlarged and embellished it. But after a short period, in 14th or 15th century, the stronghold was already decaying. In 1870 Montefiascone became a part of Italy. The town was bombed twice in 1944. To see: San Flaviano church, St. Maria delle Grazie.
