That Lazio farmhouse is settled on the hills of Tuscia at 600 metres of altitude, near to the famous Civita di Bagnoregio (4 km). The farmhouse, built in basaltic stone and tufa, rises on a Roman wall (260 b.C.) and is placed in the centre of a property of 100 ha, cultivated with wheat, barley and purple medic, biologically cultivated. The farmhouse is easy to reach both from the railway and from the Autostrada A1 Roma-Firenze, and it occupies an ideal position to visit etruscan areas (Tarquinia, Vulci etc.40/50K.m ), the wonderful Bolsena lake at 7 km, and the regions at the border, Tuscany and Umbria (Orvieto a 20 Km, Todi a 50 Km, Siena a 90 Km ). The farmhouse is divided in 2 independent apartments and 1 bedsit (double bed + bathroom) and could welcome 14 people. The ground floor apartment has a living-room (with fireplace), a lunge, a kitchen, 1 double bed, 2 twin rooms, 2 independent bathrooms (one with tub, the other with shower). The apartment at the first floor comprehend 1 kitchen/lunge with fireplace, a living-room with sat Tv and library, 2 double rooms with private bathrooms /one with tub, the other with shower), a twin room with bathroom (with shower). The bedsit ha san independent entrance and comprehend a double room and a private bathroom (with tub). The farmhouse has 1 dishwasher and 1 washing machine. There is a swimming pool (6x12 metres) and near there is also a kitchen (that can be used in summer) and barbecue, 1 ping-pong, a locker room, a playground for bowls. There is the possibility to have wonderful walks, to play tennis, in the near Bagnoregio (4 km) and ride horses at 3 km. On demand, there is the possibility to have lessons on drawing and painting. Bagnoregio is a town of 3.600 inhabitants, placed at 28 Km from Viterbo. In the past, the town was known with the name of Bagnorea, and is nowadays famous for Bonaventura, important priest and philosopher of the XIIIth century.

CIVITA DI BAGNOREGIO

Civita di Bagnoregio is a town of Viterbo province in Central Italy, a frazione of the comune of Bagnoregio, 2 km (about 1 mile) W. It is about 145 km (90 mi) north of Rome.

It was founded by Etruscans over twenty-five hundred years ago, has seen its population dwindle to just fifteen residents over the course of the 20th century, and has only recently been experiencing a tourist revival, due in great measure to the American travel guide Rick Steves who popularized it in the 1990s.

The town is noted for its striking position atop a plateau of friable volcanic tufa overlooking the Tiber river valley, in constant danger of destruction as its edges fall off, leaving the buildings built on the plateau to crumble. As of 2004, there are plans to reinforce the plateau with steel rods to prevent further geological damage.

The city is also much admired for its architecture, some spanning several thousand years. Civita di Bagnoregio owes much of its unaltered condition to its relative isolation: the town was able to withstand most intrusions of modernity as well as the destruction wrought by two world wars.
